Stars in the Public's Eyes
Stars on Social Media Today
In the beginning of film and sports people knew of different actors and athletes, but they couldn't necessarily get a lot of information on them or follow their lives closely(and maybe they didn't want to). Today, though, and starting back when Charlie Chaplin was popular, people really follow the lives of their favorite athletes and stars. Maybe that is because these things are more prevalent in our lives, with movies and sports being some of our favorite pastimes, or maybe it is just because with all of the technology that we have to do this information is easier to get. You can find anything from how many points LeBron James scored last night to the next movie that Arnold Schwarzenegger is going to be in you can get that information, and there is someone out there who wants. it and will go out and find it. where in the 1800's people couldn't get these facts, so they wouldn't worry about them as much Also, because of this, stars that have people following every move of their life today can spread messages to their followers much faster than it would have been possible in the 1920's. This could change society because if everyone listens to their favorite stars, and do what they say those stars then have a lot of power and could use that to really help people. Lastly, this has changed society because it means that these stars have to watch their every move because everyone else is also. This would be completely different from the early stars that didn't have to worry about everyone finding out where they had made lunch reservations because the news wouldn't travel fast, now that news can travel extremely quickly so people who are famous really have to watch out for themselves. As we get to things like social media the stars are paid even closer attention to, and it will probably remain that way with their lives just getting more and more public as time goes on.
