1. Biography.com-
This website has biographies of many famous people. It has such things as their birth dates, where they were born, their death dates, a video relating to the person, and then it has good information about what accomplishments that person achieved throughout their lifetime. I felt like when writing biographies about the different people this web sight had all of the information that I was looking for. The only problem I had was that it didn't have everyone that I was looking for, but with all of the famous people that there are I don't think that you can really expect them to have a biography for every single one. Other than that I thought this was a great website.
2. Warner Bros.-
This website talks about the Warner Brothers Studios, and what they produce. It also talks about the different divisions of the company, and what they do. I felt like this website had good information on the Warner Brothers Organization, and the different divisions within the company. Yet, I wanted more information on the start of the Warner Brothers Company and they didn't really have very much information on that, but overall I thought that this was a good website.
3. IMDb-
This was also a website that had biographies of people who are famous or about movies. I thought this website was good for information on things like birth date, birth place, and death date, but it didn't have much information on accomplishments of the people. Also, just like the other website it doesn't have every famous person, but again I think that this is reasonable. Also, I thought this website had really good information when it cam to looking up movies here. Overall I think this is also a good website.
4. FilmSite-
This website has an abundance of events that are related to film and it has them listed in chronological order. I thought that it was really helpful for my timeline because I could find events here and also see when they happened compared to other events. The only thing that I wasn't crazy about with this website was that sometimes it felt like there was just too much reading and too much information and maybe things could have been summarized more, but overall it was very helpful.
5. Film Daily Archives-
This website has articles that were written from 1918-1936 in The Film Daily Newspaper, and this includes reviews of movies which is what I used it for. I thought that it had really good reviews and they were from the time when the movies came out, but going to this website I knew the date that the article was written and I still had to do some digging through different articles. There is also a search bar but if you try to search a word chances are it will be in many places throughout the newspaper, but the pages will still be narrowed down for you. I did think that this website was good for information and helpful, but I feel as though it wouldn't have been if I didn't know the date that the article was published.
6. American Film Institute (AFI)-
On this website you can search movies that you know of, and it will give you all sorts of information on them, such as the director, the cast, and a summary. I thought that this website was really helpful when I wanted to get more information on a movie or find a site with a primary source about that movie, they have that also. I thought that this was a great site with all of the information that I needed about the films I was looking up.
7.ESPN.com
This website has very useful and informative biographies of many famous athletes. You can find major endorsement deals, achievements, their early years of playing the sport, and a brief summary of their personal life. They also often have interviews with players which can be helpful to find quotes for them. The information was legitimate since ESPN is a large, trusted sports broadcasting franchise, and much of the information needed for the athletes I was researching was found on this website. The only thing that it lacked was the non-sport related achievements that the individuals accomplished.
8.NBA.com
This Website was very useful to find interviews for the two famous basketball players I focused on. The interviews were a great source for quotes, and for general information or nicknames for the basketball players I was researching. The website however lacked information about endorsements and the youth ages of the players, and archives were difficult to find.
9.Boxing.com
This website was extremely useful while looking up information on the boxer I focused on from the earlier time period for this project. While in general information and quotes from this time period were difficult to find, this website contained much of the needed information. Great interviews and articles containing quotes and general information on the early boxing champion which was very useful.
10.Ultimatenzsoccer.com
This website was very useful because information on the site was almost everything that i was searching for. The site talked about the soccer player's history, accomplishments, and had interviews in which I could obtain the quotes I needed for my research. This website was very useful and provided much of the needed information for that athlete.
